The Wearing O' The Green

I met my husband five years ago today (St. Patrick's Day), in a bar. We were engaged in the same bar three years ago today. So tonight, we took the girls to the bar for their very first St. Pat's. That's right, I had two babies in a bar, and they were really good. My aunt and I took them over early so we could get a booth and a parking spot, and we were all home and in our pajamas by 8pm. Very unlike the St. Patrick's days of my past....

Charlotte wanted a Guiness... or was terrified of it. Hard to tell with her.

Katie just wanted to smile and chew on her fist. Same things she does at home.

The four of us. PJ had come right from work, hence the red (not very Irish) shirt. NOT a great picture, but the only one I got of the four of us, in 'our' booth, the booth where we met and got engaged.

Charlotte modeling the ensemble, and Katie hitting the bottle.

Charlotte, not happy in the hat, and wondering WHY AM I IN A BAR?? LOL

And finally, Katie in her little pink coat ready to go home. Until next St. Patrick's day, goodbye bar... thanks for eveything!! Without you there would be no us. :)

What a fun tradition for your family.

You DO realize that they'll be telling their friends about how their parents took them to a bar as infants, right? LOL

Your daughters are pretty much the cutest babies I've ever seen. They make me smile- and after my recent m/c, I haven't had much to smile about. Thank you for sharing!

I have to say that the older the girls get, the more I think they look like sweet Jack. Both of them.

I keep thinking of that line from Sweet Home Alabama... "She has a baby. In a BAR."

Seriously though, love the pics, and the girls' dresses are darling. There were slim pickings here in WA, I guess there is no Irish spirit here! Happy meeting/engagement day :)

how awesome! my husband and i also met in a bar (but an english pub, not an irish one) and we took the boys to it a few weeks ago. unfortunately, they had to stay outside since there is still smoking in bars here.

love the pics of the girls, esp charlotte. i understand, i'm scared of guinness too. :P
