The girls had their 4 month doctor appointment yesterday.
The Good:
The doctor basically said they are PERFECT (of course!! LOL) They are both 22 3/4 inches, which is only in the 5th percentile for height, but she said it can take awhile for them to catch up growth-wise. As for weight though, Charlotte is 12lbs 5oz and Katie is 12lbs 15oz!! They are totally on the charts, Katie is 25th percentile and Charlotte is right behind her. YAY! Doc said they do everything normal full term 4 month olds do, they laugh and smile and interact, look at people, have good neck control, reach for things (mostly my hair and necklace....ouch). For 32 week preemies to be doing all those things is pretty freaking awesome. Go my girls!
The Bad:
Vaccines. I hate them. The look on their lttle faces when the shots went into their chubby thighs, ugh. They are so sweet and trusting, they were laughing and smiling at the doctor and then.... BAM. They looked so shocked like, what... what was that? Did someone HURT me? Charlotte was miserable all afternoon, she cried so hard, she made ME cry. Last night they both woke up at one point and had high fevers, Katie was 101.9, Charlotte was 102.2. I hate to see them suffering. I've already seen one of my children suffer enough to last me a lifetime.....
The UGLY:
Katie is a puke machine. She puked all over me about 4 times on Tuesday, twice on my mother and then a couple times yesterday, though it is getting better. I think it was reflux, the doctor said she thinks she might have a bug. It hasn't dampened her spirits, she smiles as she's barfing all over you, but man do we all STINK. As soon as I bathe and change, the puke fountain starts again. And that smell just lingers.
And the GOOD again:
PJ won $400 in a Super Bowl pool using Jack's "number".... PJ would always say when Jack was a goalie (that was his big dream for Jack, to play hockey) he would be 33 because he was the third of three. It kind of stuck with us and now it's become his number... so PJ picked box 33 and we won with the score at the end of the first quarter. We're going to put the money into Jack's Fund, since we decided it is his money. Go Jack!! It was just very cool that his box was the one that won.
The Pictures (gotta have the pictures):
Pictures in their Valentine pajamas Tuesday night, before the huge amounts of vomit started flowing:
Katie being happy Katie, and Charlotte being, well, Charlotte....

Your family is beautiful!........thank you for sharing your story and journey...God Bless!~~
It is so good to see the girls doing so well. I know they will be told wonderful stories of their brother and know he is always with them. Hang in there.
Shots stink! Sometimes it's helpful to give them Tylenol before they leave the house for their appointment. It makes them a little less miserable and sore.
they both look so cute. Hope your doing well too.
sweet baby girls! they are just gorgeous. :)
i am not looking forward to the boys' first shots next week. :(
and aw, sweet jack, giving mommy and daddy little gifts here and there. :D
What cutie pies you have. Love the outfits (we have the same ones for our girls!). We have our month shots at the end of this month and not looking forward to it. They just got their synagis shot on Monday and that was not fun.

Too cute of pics!! I am so glad to hear that the girls are just as perfect as can be!!
With my daughter I had to give her tylenol before her appointment and then every 4 hours for the remainder of the day and sometimes even into the next day. She didn't tolerate the shots all that well, but now we don't have anymore (besides flu shots) till Kindergarten!! Thank goodness!!
Those pictures are adorable!!!!
Yay, they are getting SO big! Good job Mama! They are adorable.
That's such a sweet story about Jack's number winning.
What wonderful news that your girls are doing so well. I hate when little ones get shots, too. They aren't able to understand what is going on and that's hard.
It's nice that Jack's number won the pool. Little reminders of him will hopefully continue to come up.
God has blessed you with a beautiful family.
I knew there would be a post today. I heard that song that you say is Jack and your song - I heard it today in the midst of the chaois of my day and I knew you posted. Glad to read the girls are doing well and growing. And awesome that you won that pool for Jack. Take care, thoughts and prayers.
The girls are gorgeous!! Glad to hear they are doing well. And what an amazing treat to win that money using Jack's number. He is definitely looking after you all.
Your little girls are beautiful!
Oh those girls are so stinkin' cute!! Who could stick one of those cuties? Poor babies. I agree with the Tylenol before the appointment. Always helped for my guys.
You're doing good momma. Keep it up.
The girls are getting cuter and cuter each day.

Jack is one clever lil guy! It is so cool his number won!
Great to hear the girls are doing so well. Shot, well, they suck... DH and I fight over who has to take the kids. We both hate it.
Take care...
The girls are beautiful. Glad to hear they are doing so well:)
Sounds like the girls are doing great! I can't wait until my 32-weekers are on the charts and doing all of that stuff. Well, sort of. I don't want them to grow up, though!
We have those same V-day outfits. Too cute!
Megan, the girls just get cuter and cuter with every pic. 33 is also my favorite #, has been since I was little. Glad to see it brought you some luck :)
My two year old's name is jack. I have a 5 year old too. however my third son was born at 23 weeks and has been in the NICU in houston, Tx since late October. Your story takes my breath away - and I'm sure it doesn't do anything for you and your family but i at least wanted you to know that your story has helped me. I have never known fear like I know now.
They are such gorgeous babies! I think Katie looks like her Daddy and Charlotte like Mommy. How awesome that Jack won the JACKpot! He's truly the angel of many.
Tonight I read your blog for the first time...all the way through..LOL! I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your precious Jack. Praise the Lord that you had him, even for such a short time. He is safely in the loving arms of Jesus. Katie and Charlotte are such a blessing to you and I wish you the best. As a NICU nurse, I could feel everything you went through and remember little angels that I cared for myself who did not make it home. I will continue to read your blog....God Bless!
Those weights rock...we're struggling *so* much with weight gain.
Congrats Jack!
I love the pics! Katie and Charlotte are beautiful.
They are so pretty! I think they really look like you which is how it should be after you've done all the work. :-) Sorry to hear about the puking but glad that everyone is doing well!
