Birthday, I can remember your birthday....

I know, I know, I've said this over and over but seriously, when did these two:

(in this pic they're a month old.... imagine how small they were at birth! and come on, how cute were they?? I just want to grab them and squeeze them.)

Become THESE two??

WHEN? And where was I?

My babies are TWO.

They're giants. They're super tall and wear a size 8 1/2 shoe. No I'm sorry - 8 1/2 WIDE. People are constantly guessing they're 3 or even 4 years old. It's amazing how far they've come in two years.

They had a great birthday, just a family party at the house, but they loved it. Loved the presents and the tutus and Katie especially loved the cake (as I was trying to light the candles she was standing next to me chanting CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAAAAAAAAAKE!! Can't imagine where she gets that from...... :)

The girls were spoiled rotten by their family with presents and the weather was beautiful and the day was lovely and I am crazy in love with my two year olds.

Jack was on everyone's mind, of course. In my head their birthday sort of starts 'the season' of Jack. This was when Jack was here, he was alive. This day, two years ago, Jack was on this earth, he was real and I could see him and touch him and the dates on the calendar, the cold air, the turning leaves, the pumpkins and soon the Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations all remind me of Jack, remind me of the short time we had with him. It's bittersweet but it's also comforting to me. It makes him feel so real again, makes him feel like he's right there, just out of reach but so close. Like it was only yesterday I last saw him.

Happy birthday to all of three of my babies. October 11, 2007 was the happiest day of my life.

Happy Birthday to all of you...and I bet Jack had something to do with it being such a beautiful day. Relish your season of Jack and don't blink...3 seems to come even faster than 2!

Megan, you are truly blessed - don't ever forget that. Your girls are just gorgeous and sweet Jack, a cutie pie (I will always remember him). I really do enjoy reading your blog and tell my husband about it often. I voted for you, so hopefully you will win! I feel like you are one of my girlfriends. Enjoy your birthday girls and the "season" of remembering Jack.

I can't quite believe that K&C (and Jack!) are 2! This means that my girls are alarmingly close to being 2, too!

I love the pigtails and the tutus. Your girls would tower over my munchkins if they were ever to meet. My girls are in the teeny percentile. In fact, a woman asked me the other day if Charlotte (the BIG twin!) had just turned 1. What?! Their 18-24 mo pants still fall down!

Anyway, happy birthday to all of you!
