Illin'

We made it through the WHOLE summer without a sniffle, not even a runny nose, nothing (unlike last year when the girls had such bad colds the entire month of August, the sand at the beach stuck to the snot on their faces like cement).

Summer '08 - Boogers and sand...yummy.

So I know I really shouldn't complain that now, yes, we have colds. We as in Katie, Charlotte and ME. It's all fun and games until Mommy gets sick too.

We're into our second week now with this cold-that-never-seems-to-end. It's followed the typical pattern in our house. Katie gets it first. I delude myself into thinking it's allergies, because Charlotte is fine. Then Charlotte gets sniffly and I think, okay, it's just a cold. Then I get it too and my sympathy level goes way way up when I realize how crappy I feel - the babies must feel even worse. And finally, Charlotte ends up getting way sicker than everyone else. She always has to get all the attention, that LaLa.

She is like a fountain of snot, and she will not let me anywhere near her with a tissue. It's gross. She smears it all over her face but runs if I try and wipe it off. I have to be stealthy, sneaking up behind her with a wet wipe behind my back.....

Katie on the other hand LOVES blowing her nose, loudly and repeatedly like an old man, then trying to hand the disgusting tissue to whoever may be near by.

In all seriousness, it does just seem to be a bad cold and we already are a bit better. But it doesn't bode well for the long.... long... LONG winter ahead. I did not miss this at all, the sickness, the germs, the worrying. I hate when my babies are sick.

Totally off topic - cute cute pics we had taken last week. If you look closely, you can see Katie's runny nose. :)

I see the space for Jack, especially in the one on the "beach". They couldn't possibly be any cuter.
