First Haircut

Today was a big day. One I thought might never come when I was looking at my bald, bald babies just last summer....

That's right, we went for our very first haircut. Although that might be a bit of an exaggeration - it was honestly just a trim. They were definitely starting to sport a nice little toddler mullet, and they had straggly pieces hanging in their eyes. The stylist did a great job of just neatening it all up.

And shockingly - my girls were SO SO GOOD!

There was some bribery involved in the form of Mommy and Grandma's cellphones, and maybe a lollipop, but still, they were angels. I thought Charlotte might be okay since she doesn't mind me putting pigtails in her hair but Katie usually won't even let me do that. I was really proud of them and they look so so cute.

On our way to the salon!

Charlotte went first.....

Mmmmm..... lollipop.....

Okay, don't take too much off the sides!

DONE!! LaLa you look great!

And then Katie, who didn't seem to enjoy it as much as LaLa but still was happy to sit on Mommy's lap and play with her phone....

Katie was more camera shy than Miss Charlotte...

This is the best 'after' we got....

We did have trouble getting the cellphones away from the Divas....

But when we got home Daddy had bought us presents - our own combs!! :)

Such big girls!! Where did my little bald babies go?

so cute! My daughter (at 3) still needs mullet trims :) She, however, scream the entire time. At the salon my sister works at none the less!

Awe...they look so cute! Isn't it a bittersweet moment? We had Landon's first haircut last week and he looks like such a little man now. Of course with girls you can wait a little longer. The boys were both getting major mullets. LOL :)

OK.. first, let me say I've enjoyed following your blog.... your strength has been very inspiring. I've never posted a comment on here before, but I couldn't hold back today. I don't want to sound bossy (HA.. now you know what kind of comment this is going to be) but is that how your kids ride in the car seat? or perhaps that picture was just taken when you were stationary? Their straps need to be up on their shoulders and the buckle needs to be at their sternum. I had a very close friend who got into an accident and her daughter was ejected from the car b/c her straps were down like that. You are a great mom, and I"m sure that the picture doesn't show the whole story... but I just had to be a little "bossy". Thanks.. (oh, and you can erase this comment if you would like).

You are absolutely right about the carseat straps! Katie is obsessed with buckles lately and she makes it VERY difficult to strap her in,and then spends the entire ride fooling with the straps and the buckle, but that is no excuse... i almost didn't post the picture because i knew people would see it and think how dangerous! I promise they don't usually ride around like that!

OK, I'm glad I'm not the only nervous Nellie who immediately worried about their straps! :-)

Anyway, the girls are, as always, sweet as can be! Love the new do's. And the very thoughtful daddy. Seems like he is totally down with living in a house full of girls!

Cute blog, cute haircuts...I happened here along some multiples friends, I assume. Your post about Mr Poopy was nice to read. My boys survived TTTS but my heart aches for those that have lost one/more of multiples. Everything being a mix of celebration/loss. thanks for sharing their stories.
