That Mom

Ah, remember last Easter? My two sweet girls sat on the Bunny's lap like little angels. I was so pleased.... smug even.... my perfect children...

And now, this Easter...

What? You don't see a picture of my two pixies seated adorably on the Easter Bunny's lap? Well how about this then....

Katie. Upon spotting the large, furry, bespectacled bow tie wearing rabbit walking through the mall towards us.

I thought my girls would be okay with the Bunny, despite the Santa photo problems. They're older now, and like I kept telling my husband, they LOVE animals. I told the girls for days, we're going to see the Easter Bunny.... he's a big cute furry bunny! You'll love him! He wears glasses like Mommy and Daddy!! He's like a big CAT and you love cats!!

Charlotte was excited BEFORE he arrived....

But once the Bunny showed up.... well, see the previous photo of Katie and picture Charlotte pretty much the same way. This is another example of me having to eat my words and remind myself to never say never. I never thought my girls would be the screaming crying kids trying to claw their way off Santa or the Easter Bunny's lap. Wrong.

And even worse...they were wearing THESE:

Leashes. I'm officially That Mom.

And I'm okay with it.

This is one entry that really tickled me! Those two little girls are a hoot! It's amazing how so many things can send them into hysterics! I certainly enjoy all your pictures or no pictures as the case may be.

Yeah, I think I'm skipping the bunny..I just don't have the energy..lol. As for the "leashes"..I'm one step closer to getting them every single day.

I'm going to be one of those moms who doesn't bother unless we're actually AT the mall and my child expresses their own interest in sitting on santa/bunny knee themself. then i'll be all for it, but that line looks like hell and i will only make that sacrifice if my child actually wants to go. i've got pictures of myself on santa's knee and i do not 'treasure' them or the memories.

My daughter is 4 and we just had our first Santa pic this past winter...so I really relate. And we've NEVER had a bunny picture, he's still too scary.

I love that you took pics of the crying, wish I'd have done that. It's something at least.

Happy Easter to you and your family!

LOL :) Sorry the Easter picture didn't quite work out. And I will not pass any judgement whatsoever on "the leash". As a mom, you need to do what works. I hope you and your family have a great Easter.

lol....I for one, love baby leashes. I'm hoping to find ones that I can click onto my belt loop, thus keeping my hands free! Woot! I actually saw little pink poodle ones at Target last week. We will not be visiting the Easter Bunny this year. :P

awww, but on the bright side the girls will get such a kick out of seeing these pictures later ;) I know I love looking at the crying pictures of me on Santa, etc :P

Ah, we were going to try a laid back approach to the bunny this year but it didn't work out. I know that my girls would flip out if we brought them to the mall.

And I'm joining you - we plan to buy leashes as well.

My 19 and 24 year old daughters NEVER sat on Santa's lap and the Easter bunny..forget it. When the older one was around 3 we went to the mall (right near our home) because "I'm gonna do it tonight mommy" Don't believe a 3 year old.
We took the younger one to Disney when she was still in the scared stage and she puked on Goofy. You will eventually treasure the memories.

I will be getting that "leash" because when your kid yanks his hand out of your grip and it's always near a parking lot, you just deal, lol. Leashes are IN!!

Some of your entries make me giggle so much. I still go back to the "Tater Tot Dance" when I need to smile!

Sorry about the scary bunny.... mine didn't do so well with Santa this year so we didn't even attempt the bunny.

Ok, where did ya get the leashes? We need em' bad!

Oh how do you like the backpack leashes? I have been thinking of becoming that mom too and OK with it! Isabelle sometimes just hates to sit in the cart she wants to be moving. PLease let me know what you think and how you like them. I came very close to getting one today at Target but didn't. I need some input from people who have used them 1st. Too funny about the bunny Isabelle did that last year and with Santa this year so I am not even going to out her or me through the bunny this year. There is always next year and another year older!!!!

haha, we didn't get santa pics last year, and I am bummed right out about it. I want to try the easter bunny, but they are sick. :S

PS, the Santa pic was great! Minus the crying, your Santa looked very cheery! I like that! :)

Oh easter pictures! Those are always good for a laugh around my house! My oldest has never had any problem with the EB. My daughter at 8 months old took a bunny picture that should have been the poster for visiting the bunny. The next year? She was SCREAMING!!! My oldest son was bored looking (and wearin his big winter boots so classy) and the baby (2 months at the time) was asleep! This year? Lets just say we may not be allowed within 100 feet of large bespectaled rabbits anymore....

Yay I am in that same boat with my boys! They wouldn't be in the sam eroom with Easter Bunny! Oh Well... Just to let you know that you are not alone!

LOL! Wear the badge with pride!

Sorry they were so scared. Mine melted down so much at santa, I dared not risk it!

I have not even ONE Easter bunny pic of my kids. I FINALLY got one Santa pic this year (third Christmas lol)

I keep wanting to try the hand-to-hand "leashes" but can't bring myself to actually buy them and try them.

My seven year old insisted on visiting The Bunny today at the mall. The 21 month old was scared to death. I kept laughing during the visit because it reminded me of your post. We did manage to get a picture- I had to hold the 21 month old and stand next to the bunny, and my seven-year old stood on the other side with a huge grin.

I said I'd never do the leash thing either.. but what else can you do when you have mutliple babies (ok, toddlers)that like to run all over and not stay with you? Ya gotta do what ya gotta do:)
