The Big Day

Jack's Golf Tournament is Monday - I can't believe it! It came so fast. I'm praying the weather is nice, and it all goes well. I am starting to get excited for it, I think it's going to be a lot of fun, but I'm still nervous - hopefully it will all go smoothly!

I think the golf outing being so close has made me think of Jack even more, if that's possible. That combined with the babies rapidly approaching birthday. I can't help but think of this time last year, think of their birth, the days after, weeks after, months after.

I miss him so much. I'm back in the place where I can't even talk about him without crying, I mean can't even say his name without starting to tear up. I don't want that - I want to be able to talk about Jack. It's just hard right now. It all feels so fresh again. I keep thinking how a year ago I could never, never have imagined what lay ahead for us.

Between the golf tournament, the girl's upcoming birthday party and a million other things, life has been pretty crazy this past week. On top of it all, the girls have been snotty, grumpy messes with bad colds. Proof of snottiness (and grumpiness):

They seem to be feeling a little better, finally, but it's been a looooong looooooooong week for all three of us. Last weekend we had lots of fun though - apple picking! I've already made a huge apple cake (which of course no one is eating but ME...oink oink):

And going to the zoo!

(The first picture cracks me up... notice the bear in the background, and Katie's expression... like she's saying What?? What's behind me? A WHAT? lol)

Anyway.... maybe on Monday, if you think of it, send a good thought to Jack. I know the point of the tournament is to raise money to help other children and families, but I feel in my heart like it's Jack's day. The incredible outpouring of love and help and donations and everything are a tribute to Jack, and how amazing he was. Monday is for him, my sweet baby. I know he'll be there with us - I keep telling him, bring us some sun Jack!!

I will report back with all the details and lots of pictures!
