Day in the Life

Today was a big day for us. Now that we are big nine month olds, we have very busy schedules!

First thing was our 9 month check up. All the nurses came in the room to see us, because they couldn't believe how big (and cute!) we are. We had to wait a long time - we entertained ourselves by tearing up the white paper on the examining table, pulling Grandma's hair and trying to knock the picture off the wall. Finally Mom gave us our bottles to drink while we waited and that kept us happy.

Dr. Lisa said we look great (of course).

We are huge! We're both 28 inches long. Charlotte weighs 19lbs 10oz, and Katie weighs 20lbs 8oz!! Charlotte can't say anything about Katie's weight though, because Charlotte has a huge head - 46 centimeters, which is like the 100th percentile for our age. Mommy said Charlotte has a big melon.

After the doctor we went to Short Hills Mall. We had a special big girl lunch at a nice restaurant called Legal Seafood. It was so much fun! We sat in our own high chairs and Mommy ordered us a baked potato to share, which we'd never had before - it was really good. Katie loved it! Charlotte didn't like it as much, even when Mommy dipped her pieces in butter.

Then Grandma gave Katie a roll to chew on and it was the greatest thing ever - she had to pry it away from us! We were really good girls, even if we left Cheerios and baked potato all over the floor.

Mmmmm... roll.....

When we got home we played with our lamb Mommy bought us after lunch at Babystyle. We love our lamb. She's really soft and kissable.

Next Mommy tried to take our Nine Month Pictures but we were pretty tired and cranky by then and were not very cooperative.

Grandma did get some smiles out of Katie by dancing around and shaking some toys.

Mommy and Grandma both kept saying they needed naps after the day with us.

Charlotte seemed to think the bear was touching her inappropriately ... she did not like where he was putting his paw!

After that Daddy got home from work and we had our dinner - pastina! It is so delicious, you should try it. Mommy loves it - we know because she keeps eating ours when she thinks we're not looking.

Then Daddy gave us our baths, and he put Charlotte in the tub with her diaper still on, then accidentally washed Katie's hair with dish soap. Daddy is SO SILLY. He'd had a really long day too.

We were sound asleep by 7:30, though each of us woke up at least once because when we cry Mommy sits in the glider with us and rocks us and kisses the tops of our heads and tells us how much she loves us until we fall back to sleep. She says that's the best part of her day, even though every time she sits in that chair with us she cries a little, because she thinks about Jack and how much she misses him. It's okay though, we miss Jack too. We understand.

And that's the end of our big day!

Bye!

I believe its a common mistake for a hard working father to accidentally use dish soap instead of baby shampoo. So lay off the guy for heavens sake. Its not his fault he's a dope.

Your post made me laugh and cry today. I do the same thing with my baby at night when he wakes up (at least the times when I'm not delirious because it's 2 am), lately it's the only snuggle time I get, he's so busy being a toddler! Yikes! They grow up fast don't they?
The girls are beautiful, and I think of them and Jack often.

The only time I get to snuggle with my little guy is in the middle of the night! And, many times, while cuddling, I think of Jack.
I check your blog daily, and I think you are an amazing writer.

Aw, what a wonderful day - and such great photos! Every one was too cute - and you could just tell they loved that lamb, too. :)

I especially liked the end of your day, how they wake up 'on purpose' to snuggle in the chair (just like my little one does!!) and how that is when you all especially think of Jack (well, I know you think of him all the time but you know what I mean...). Happy 9 months to all your beautiful babies!

Love Jen & Evan

Your girls are so adorable. Those smiles always make me chuckle. You are doing such a terrific job as mom!

Even though I've never met you, I also think of Jack frequently and hug my little ones a little bit tighter. Thank you, Jack, for always reminding me to live for just this moment.

I've been away and just caught up on the past 6 weeks. First---your video was hysterical! I had tears running down my face, I was laughing so hard. Too too cute!

Second--LOVE your new header and layout, it looks great. :)

Third---Happy 9 months to your precious sweethearts. The girls ARE looking more and more alike to me. They are just beautiful!

And last but not least---I too remember your Jack. Especially when I'm having a rough day. I am reminded to be grateful for my daughter even when she is making me want to pull my hair out. Thank you for continuing to share your story with all of us.
