Big Girls

The time is going by so fast- does every mother say that? I think she does..... I already miss my little babies. I can't believe how big my girls are now. I can't believe it's been eight months since I had my babies.

The monthly photo taking, good lord, what a fiasco. If you have ONE baby to take a picture of it's probably reasonably simple but with two, forget it. They now will not sit still, and NEVER smile at the same time. We tried taking some pictures outside but all anyone wanted to look at was the grass. So we moved inside to the chair we take pictures in every month, but this month the babies finally realized the chair, in fact, rocks. And rocks and rocks... so all the pictures from inside are rather blurry. I give up.

Here are my best efforts. Charlotte is of course in pink, Katie is in the blue.

Charlotte's World at Eight Months Old:

I love my sister and cry when she's not around. If she's napping I don't even want to play until she wakes up. I look at her and laugh and smile all day.

Now I'm a better sleeper than Katie - I usually sleep all night, without waking up - but I am an early riser, I never sleep past 6:30. I've learned Mommy is not a morning person.

I am the mischievous one, and I have the best laugh, I laugh so hard I get hysterical.

I have TWO teeth, and they are sharp! I'm a good eater and will eat almost anything you give me, but I did NOT like the yogurt we tried this morning.

Everyone says now that I look just like Daddy!

Katie's World at Eight Months Old:

I don't sleep as well as I used to. Mommy thinks I wake up just to get some time alone with her and Daddy (and no Charlotte) and she might be right.

I love Puffs and television and have gotten very clingy to Mommy. At the heart doctor last week I weighed 18lbs 14oz - I'm huge!

I laugh and squeal SO loudly people think I'm crazy! I have the BIGGEST smile

I still have no teeth but I drool so much I'm constantly soaked. I love looking at myself in the mirror. I can pull myself up without any help! I'm still so good natured and easy going, and I smile at everyone.

Mommy thinks I look like her but it may just be wishful thinking....

We both laugh and smile a lot, and love people and especially compliments. We can sit with no problem, and are really close to crawling. We hold our own bottles and can pick up little pieces of food, though we don't always get it in our mouths. We can stand while holding on to things. We think books are delicious. We think the cat is completely fascinating. We are sweet happy babies.

One Month and Eight Months..... we were under 5 pounds at one month old!

They are awesome. What two precious, cute, happy little girls you have. You are both doing something right. I LOVE seeing pictures of them - they put a smile on my face. And yes, they all grow way too fast. Have a great day and enjoy those little munchins.

They're adorable, the pictures are actually pretty cute with them *not* looking directly at the camera - shows their fun, curious age!

You have such beautiful happy children! Thanks for sharing pictures!

I showed my Husband your website and he was so touched by your story.

I love getting a glimpse into your lives. I love reading about your children. I have 2 that are 10 1/2 months apart and at times I feel like I am raising twins!

I love the notes from the girls themselves. I think this is going to be a wonderful memento for the girls to have when they are old and gray and have kids of their own! its just amazing.
The girls are gorgeous! and I love the pics of them in the rocker :)

Oh my Megan!!
They are beautiful! I love their 8 month photo shoot and think it came out wonderfully - showing both their personalities so well! The dresses are the best! And your description of them was so much fun to read!

You're a great Mom!

How sweet Megan! I had to laugh when you said your early riser gets up at 6:30. That's sleeping in over here! I love seeing the comparison pics. I so hope our kids get to meet each other soon. Though it sounds like we are VERY behind since we don't hold bottles over here, crawl, pull up to sitting, or stand yet!

I love these posts....learning what the girls are into right now. So sweet and I feel your pain with the monthly pictures. I just added my girls' 3 month pictures and none of them turned out, but I still posted them anyway.... Sounds like your girls are just the sweetest little things. They sure look like it too. :)

Your girls are so cute, love that age - I think it's my favorite (not that they all aren't but you know what I mean!!)

Found your blog and will add it to my list to keep reading - I have a 2.5 year old little boy and a new baby girl that will be 6 weeks on Monday. (Enjoy the girls before they hit toddlerhood - ay yi yi LOL)

GORGEOUS!! I love the fact that you can manage to get little bows in their hair! I also love those pictures...they're so much better when they kids don't cooperate. You can look back and laugh at the fact that you even made the attempt to take the picture.

They are gorgeous and getting so big! I'm amazed at how smart they are - typing out their thoughts at 8 mos? Now that's talent!
