Baptised!

The baptism was really really nice. It wasn't exactly sunny and warm, but at least it wasn't raining. There were TEN babies baptised at the mass - 9 girls and one boy. Our girls were of COURSE the prettiest and best dressed... well in my opinion anyway. Not sure they were the best behaved though, Katie cried (pretty loudly) and Charlotte chimed in a little, but overall they were good. It didn't help that the service fell right at their usual naptime.

I was really happy that it was the same priest who had come to the hospital and baptised Jack. I can tell the girls some day that all three of them were baptised by Father Ed. He mentioned Jack a few times during the Mass which really got to me - after he had baptised the girls he said that the girls had a brother named Jackson who had passed away, and that he had christened him too. We consider PJ's father Jack's godfather, since he was at the hospital with us when we had him baptised, so he stood up with all of us holding a picture of Jack. It made it feel at least a little bit like Jack was there.

It really was a lovely day, the girls had all their family from both sides around them, they had wonderful godparents, two sets of grandparents who I don't think could possibly adore them (or spoil them) anymore than they already do, and a little brother watching over them.

I wish I'd gotten more pictures but it was just such a CRAZY day. As soon as we got to my mom's (where the party was) Katie conked out, so I have more pictures of Charlotte (this is a disclaimer before someone AGAIN says I seem to favor Charlotte.... it was purely the fact that she was awake.) I had ordered the most amazing stuffed cupcakes for dessert and I have to say, I think they were the hit of the party.... they are SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. I ordered 4 dozen, 8 different flavors: Lemon, Orange, Chocolate, Chocolate and Vanilla, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Carrot Cake, Strawberry and Red Velvet. We then made little boxes that everyone could take one home in, though of course most people seemed to eat theirs at the party. So if anyone needs decorated cupcake boxes, let me know...

Anyway, here's a few pics - I'm hoping to get more from family members who maybe weren't quite as frazzled as I was and remembered to take some. My cousin also videotaped the baptism for us, so at least we have that. I definitely plan on taking the girls to Sears or someplace this week and having some professional shots taken of them in their dresses. They just looked TOO beautiful not to get some better shots of them. They really looked like little dolls.

I'm holding Katie and PJ is holding Charlotte:

My parents with Charlotte, and Katie and her godmother (PJ's sister):

Charlotte and Katie - LOVE the bonnets (and the matching dazed expressions)!

Katie and Daddy and then Charlotte, tired after all the excitement!

I really love this picture of me and my girls, and the beautiful Blessed Mother statue....

and if you look closely, you can see that Charlotte is blowing raspberries, which she did through most of the mass.... including while we were standing up at the altar.

Looks like you had a wonderful day. And how nice that Jack was mentioned and remembered - tears came to my eyes when you said your fahter-in-law was his godparent and stood up with you while the girls were being baptized. How special is that. The girls looked awesome in their beautiful gowns and bonnets and Jack was right there with you smiling down on his family. God Bless all of you.

They look so beautiful! I like the last picture as well. I can't tell if the blessed mother is with a boy or girl, but I'm going to say it represents Jack. Glad the day went well.

Oh, how beautiful everyone looks! Where did you find their baptism gowns, they are just gorgeous! We had to postpone our baptism until June since the girls were so sick, and I never did find gowns I love.

I'm so glad that Jack was included, too. And, my god, the cupcakes. YUM!!

What a beautiful family!
The girls are looking more and more alike, especially in the pics with their bonnets on! Too cute! That's so nice that they included Jack in the ceremony and that you were able to have the same priest. It sounds like he did a wonderful job with the service.

The girls are GORGEOUS as always, loved their dresses. You have awesome taste.

I was touched that the God Father held a picture of sweet Jack. I don't think it would have been complete without that....beautiful touch.

Love the picture of you holding both the girls...with the blessed Mother int he background. That's a maternal picture if I ever saw one.

You look beautiful by the way!

Now I feel like a total slacker mom because we still haven't had ours baptized.
