Triplets Are Here

If you haven't already heard or figured out by my absence, my intuition was all too right. I don't have the energy to go into it all tonight, but here's a copy of what I just posted on the Nest:

-------------------------

It's been a LONG week, and I have so much to tell about but don't have the energy tonight. Here's the important stuff: At the peri appt last Tuesday the U/S showed Charlotte's fluid was very low and it looked like the girls might be developing Twin to Twin Transfusion - they immediately admitted me and started me on the steroids to help develop the babies lungs. I FOUGHT IT but it turned out they were absolutely right.

The babies were born Thursday October 11th:

Charlotte Elizabeth at 8:09 am, 3lbs 3oz
Kathleen Margaret at 8:10 am, 3lbs 13oz
Jackson Philip at 8:11 am, 3lbs 7oz

They are so small but so beautiful. The girls are doing AWESOME - they are both out of the NICU and into the Step Down unit (one step closer to home). They are both eating well, breathing on their own... Katie is still alot bigger than Charlotte but they are both moving along great, we get to hold them and feed them, they are little dolls (who look like PJ...LOL).

Poor Jack is struggling a little though. He is still in the NICU on a ventilator. He just doesn't seem to want to breathe on his own. He doesn't require any oxygen just the machine to help his lungs expand and contract. It is REALLY common that boys take a little longer to breathe on their own, and he is growing and doing pretty well otherwise - his body is very long and narrow, doctors think he might have been squished by his sisters... the narrowness makes it hard for his lungs to expand. He is HEARTBREAKING to see, so sweet, such a little man, all hooked up to machines, spread eagle - you can't hold him or feed him. It was hard to leave them all today but especially hard to leave him.

I know I have gotten so many prayers and thoughts already from everyone it is greedy of me to ask for more, but if you could remember our Jack and pray that he grows strong and quickly and starts to breathe on his own, so we can get him out of that NICU and into the nice peaceful room with his sisters where we can hold him and hug him and kiss him it would mean SO SO much to us.

Thanks again, you girls are all amazing- overall we really are doing very well, I'm still sore and very tired, but happy to be home and seeing my Leroy. :) I know we are so blessed to have 3 babies who are each doing better every day!

-----------------

I will write more tomorrow... soooo much to say (and some pics to show!). Now I can't wait to sleep in my own bed again, with my husband and my cat. :)

YAY!! I don't get on the nest much, but I did see that everyone has arrived! Can you believe you are a mom of 3!

They are all in my prayers and I am sure they will all be well. Poor Jack, already getting pushed around by his sisters!

I just wanted to say that I've been reading your blog for quite some time and and your family has been in my prayers constantly -- doubly now so for Jack. I'm due with my first child any day now and simply can't imagine what you and PJ are going through.

I will certainly be praying for your entire family. Your blog has/is fun to read as I am just about at the same place as you (32week 5days). I can't wait to see all the pics.
Take care and get lots of rest as the real fun will begin when they come home :-)

I saw the posts about you on the Multiples board, so happy to hear from you! Congrats on the arrival of your three little ones. Can't wait to see pics!

I will keep all three of your little ones in my thoughts, especially Jack. My son was slower to breathe as well... those boys, always behind the girls!
