I held him for almost 30 minutes (though it felt like 30 seconds). He did so well. I know it helped me a lot. I hoped it helped him a little too.
Tomorrow morning they're going to try and take his tube out again and see if he'll breathe on his own. I don't have high hopes.... but maybe that's good. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, remember? If he could just get off this freaking vent, it would be so HUGE.
Thank you all for the kind words and prayers, yet again. Knowing that so many people out there are thinking of us and praying for my babies gives me so so so much comfort, I can't even explain it.
And just to show that everything hasn't changed around here....
We still torture the cat for our own amusement. Happy Halloween from Leroy!!! He looks happy, doesn't he?? LOL

i'm almost in tears over here, but am so very happy for you. you can totally see the love you feel for him in these pictures and i must say, he looks much calmer and more relaxed that he has in other pictures. it looks like this was good for both of you :)
Megan, I just caught up on your blog and can't tell you how happy I am for you to see that Jack finally got to be held! I can see from the pictures how much it has done for your spirits, and I'm really hopeful that it's done the same for him. Perhaps this is just what he needed to make the jump, and catch up to his sisters. We're all still pulling for you! --Melanie (melaniekt from the nest)

Megan - I've been reading your blog for a little while now and I wanted to say how great it is that you got to (finally!) hold Jack. I'm sure it did him a world of good to be so close to someone who loves him as much as you do.
I'm sending you tons of vibes for the triplets so they get to go home soon. Baby jail is waiting! :)
